Record when the leak was discovered, the affected building or unit, weather observations, interior damage and available safe photos. Follow the notice method and deadline in the issued warranty promptly. Keep a copy and claim reference. Sending a request to TSG is not notice to your manufacturer and does not open a manufacturer warranty claim.
Separate mitigation from permanent repair
Protect occupants and restrict affected areas where appropriate. Immediate safety concerns need the appropriate emergency response. Ask the manufacturer about permitted temporary measures and documentation as soon as possible. Do not assume emergency work, resulting damage or a contractor invoice will be reimbursed. A temporary measure does not establish the source or provide a permanent repair scope.
Confirm authorization before work
Ask who may investigate and perform the proposed work, whether written approval is needed, and which repair details and materials apply. Keep the approval with the scope. For example, Johns Manville's Peak Advantage alteration process requires written authorization before building modifications that may affect the roofing system. Requirements for a leak claim, an alteration and ordinary maintenance may differ.
Match the repair to the assembly
TPO and PVC, EPDM and modified bitumen require different compatible methods and materials. Existing contamination, weathering, moisture and previous repairs affect the assessment. A generic patch or sealant recommendation is not a system-specific specification. Have the qualified contractor establish the appropriate preparation, repair detail and verification under applicable manufacturer instructions.
Check before coatings or new rooftop equipment
Acrylic, silicone and fabric-reinforced coating assemblies have specific substrate, preparation, adhesion, moisture and application requirements. Adding a coating is not automatically an approved repair or warranty extension. Obtain review of the proposed assembly and its effect on existing coverage. New equipment, penetrations and access changes also deserve approval review before work.
Close the record after the repair
Keep the reported condition, assessment, agreed scope, manufacturer instructions, approvals, contractor identity, products, photos and completion records together. Ask whether manufacturer inspection or written acceptance is required. Track unresolved items and recurring symptoms. Contractor completion alone does not confirm that the manufacturer has accepted the repair or a claim.
The Service Group’s role
The Service Group is not currently a manufacturer-authorized roofing contractor. You may request an inspection or maintenance-planning conversation in Memphis, Nashville or Little Rock. Scope, qualifications and availability are reviewed before work is agreed. Manufacturer approval and an appropriately authorized contractor may be required for warranty repairs or alterations. These resources do not issue, extend or confirm warranty coverage.

Always check the current manufacturer documents and the warranty terms for your specific roof.
